Hi All! Since the snow and cold have moved in (come on Spring!) I have decided to look for the silver lining in forced hibernation and get a bit more organized before the sun and warm weather come and we all head outdoors. I have put this off for awhile but I am drowning in paper…paper from the kids’ school, paper from my husband’s office, junk mail, things to be filed…you get my drift. The piles always land in the same places- on the kitchen island and on the dining room table and it is driving me nuts (most likely exacerbated by cabin fever)! I try to sort them, organize them, even file a few, but the pile keeps growing! So here are my solutions which, with great intention, I will implement while the snow continues to fall.
We have a home office in our finished basement, but I am too lazy to run papers, schedules, mail etc. up and down on a daily basis, though this would help with my other conviction to try and get more exercise. Instead, I am carving out a small spot in the front entryway in an attempt to coral things as they come in. I am thinking of implementing some file folders and containers to better store all the kids craft supplies, along with some cute printed magazine files and other goodies that will make it more enjoyable to sort, file, shred, repeat…
